Teaching Mindfulness to Primary School Students
At Buddhavipassana Waldtempel in Wassenach, mindfulness was introduced to young hearts and curious minds in a gentle and joyful way. Primary school students gathered in the peaceful temple setting to learn how awareness, kindness, and gratitude can guide their daily lives.
Through simple breathing exercises, short moments of quiet reflection, and interactive dialogue, the children discovered how to calm their minds, understand their emotions, and treat one another with respect. Mindfulness was shared in a way they could easily relate to — as paying attention, being kind, and pausing before reacting.
In the warm and sacred atmosphere of the temple, compassion became something they could feel and practice. The experience encouraged confidence, empathy, and a sense of shared belonging.
Planting seeds of mindfulness at a young age helps nurture a generation that grows not only in knowledge, but also in wisdom and kindness.
When children learn to pause and breathe,
they learn to build peace from within. 🌿🙏
